Investment & Wealth Creation
A Step-Up SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) calculator is an advanced wealth-building tool. Instead of investing a flat amount every month for 20 years, a Step-Up SIP assumes that as your salary increases every year, you will increase your monthly investment by a fixed percentage (e.g., 10% extra every year).
Standard compounding is powerful, but stepping up your SIP is the ultimate cheat code to massive wealth generation. Increasing your SIP amount by just 10% annually barely affects your monthly lifestyle, but it can literally double your final retirement corpus over a 20-30 year timeframe compared to a flat SIP.
Year 1: Invest $500 / month
Year 2: Invest $550 / month (10% Step-Up)
Year 3: Invest $605 / month (10% Step-Up)
Since the monthly investment increases annually, the calculation compounds each year's payments separately:
Maturity Value = Σ [P_y × (((1 + i)^n_y - 1) / i) × (1 + i)]
Where P_y = Monthly deposit for year y (P_y = P_0 × (1 + Step-Up %)^(y-1)), i = Monthly Interest Rate, and n_y = Remaining compounding months for that year's contributions.
